Memory Cafes
How do memory cafés help with dementia care?
Memory cafés are a great place to go if you are caring for an individual with dementia, if you’re worried about a loved one’s memory or you want to meet others who are affected by dementia in one way or another.
We hold memory cafés once every fortnight at our centre in Northallerton. Our cafés are laid out in a café style and we serve tea, coffee and biscuits much like every other café. Our cafés are run by volunteers who have been trained in dementia and dementia care.

Benefits of going to a memory café
Memory cafés have many benefits, they allow you to socialise and chat with others who are facing similar experiences and feelings as you, you can discuss any problems or feelings you’re facing and help combat feelings of loneliness and isolation. Our cafés are also a lot of fun, we provide stimulating activities such as games, quizzes, baking and much more!
